We were complaining about the 'mandatory' use of the software a LONG time ago. And I know NIS was looking at it as far back as 2010, if not earlier. Sigh... Just like the Walker 'case', we'll never know how much they got.

I've actually met Gene Kaspersky at a trade show. Fascinating guy. One of the few people who has successfully managed to get subscribers to pay after they pirated his product for years.

I hear he’s sort of eccentric too and kind of a dick to his employees.

It should have been a red flag when the fedgov banned their software for their own systems. I have a hard time believing that there are those out there who still use Kaspersky. But I guess you can’t fix stupid.
