I thought the bank had already been sanctioned way back on 2022. I guess not.

I'm not clear on alternate routes for gas supplies to Hungary and Slovakia. It is not impossible that there aren't any practical ones. If so they are more or less forced to either buy Russian gas or freeze. Japan isn't quite as bad because LNG is LNG and its all delivered by ship but I suspect there are long term contracts to be (re)negotiated. Fortunately Japan is turning its nukes back on so demand for gas should decrease

It was under certain financial restrictions, but not blocked outright until two weeks ago. The UK had it sanctioned since 2022.

From what I’m reading several options are available and more are being developed.

There are costs, and energy would be more expensive, but they won’t freeze.
