I don't envy them at all. And just keeping track of who is sanctioned/designated when/in what name is going to be a full time job, not counting actually DOING the job. Hell, look at the Bidens and 20 some odd 'companies' that their money moved through, according to the House subcommittee.

And don’t forget the subcommittee is political, so delving through all the SARs to determine what is REALLY an issue is even harder.

Talking of SARs and Bidens. You may be able to comment on this (draft) comment elsewhere by me:

PBS had an article that tried to minimize the fact that Biden related entities were responsible for 150 SARs - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/republicans-are-using-financial-records-to-investigate-hunter-biden-heres-how.

Unfortunately for PBS I don't think the defense really works. AIUI the 150 SAR reports are from c.2008 so that's on average 10/year for 15 years. But in fact there may not have been any in the Trump years so more likely it is c.15-20 / year for the years 2008-2016. PBS says that the number of SARs reported has grown from just 1,500 in 2015 to about 42,000 in 2021. So while the dates of the Biden SARs are unclear it seems likely that Biden and associates were responsible for about 1% of all SARs in the years 2008-2016.

The number of SARS doesn’t really matter. I’ve seen SARs that said they were filed because an adverse media report was found. Others are filed because of PEP links, and guess what! Hunter Biden is a politically exposed person just by virtue of who he is. Some are filed because of extensive use of shell companies. That, in and of itself, is not illegal. And many are filed defensively, which means that the bank is making sure regulators aren’t focusing on their financial institution for not filing.

There are thousands of SARs filed each day, so 150 is a shrug, unless I know what’s in them, which I do not. And with the tangled financial structures used by most wealthy people, SARs are almost inevitable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Makes sense. Thanks
